2022 avian influenza outbreak (HPAI)

Date: April 19, 2022
Time: 7:00pm CDT (8:00 pm EST)

Join the Raptor Center for a second webinar on the 2022 highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak. This webinar is intended for wildlife rehabilitators and will focus on applying biosecurity protocols during times of high HPAI transmission, using The Raptor Center as a case study (raptors will be the primary group of species discussed). Standing up a separate triage, testing, and quarantine building as HPAI started to be transmitted across Minnesota, TRC hopes to share lessons learned about biosecurity practices and case presentations on a number of the HPAI positive raptors that have presented to TRC’s triage process.

Speakers:

  • Dr. Dana Franzen-Klein, DVM, MS Medical Director, The Raptor Center
  • Gail Buhl, BS Partnership Coordinator for the Partners for Wildlife program, The Raptor Center
  • Dr. Victoria Hall, DVM, MS, DACVPM Executive Director and Veterinary Epidemiologist, The Raptor Center
